The Smoky Mountains are home to wild populations of all three species of eastern trout.
The fish are typically 6-12" and eager to take both dry flies and nymphs.  Larger (20"+)
brown trout are occasionally found.  These bruisers are among the most challenging fish
to catch anywhere in the world.

Fish from the Holston, Clinch, and other tailwaters may be either wild or stocked and
are typically larger than park fish.  It is not uncommon to catch rainbows in the 12-16"
range.  Brown trout from the Clinch River may top 25".
